Whirlpool 33-inch Wide French Door Refrigerator - 22 cu. ft. - Fingerprint Resistant Stainless Steel

First the good: after it finally cooled down and I figured out it had to be at level 6 or 7, it keeps a good temp and works. It took almost 2 weeks to figure out that the factory setting of 4 was way too low (in the food spoilage level on my thermometer). You don't adjust the cooling level but 1 mark in a 24 hour period. It also needed to have a lot more food and liquids in it (instructions said not to put food in for 24 hours). After getting that straight, it keeps food at a consistent and good temperature level. The shelves are highly adjustable and strong. The door trays are fairly strong and will hold tall things like juices and milk. The freezer is a decent size and holds quite a bit of food. The lighting is very good. It does a good job of minimizing fingerprints. Now to the bad: it takes forever to cool down initially, way longer than 24 hours! The french doors do not close securely, they need stronger closures or magnets. You close one side, the other flops open! The temperature settings go from 1 through 7 (the coolest). Factory setting of 4 will not cool enough to keep your food safe. I finally had to use 6 for our use but at Thanksgiving I had to set it on 7 for it to stay cool enough. It has no butter keeper. The ice maker drawer is fixed into the freezer and I haven't figured out how to get it out without breaking it. This means I have to scoop out the ice into a bowl to freshen the ice in the tray. It should have been a long removable ice tray covering the side of that wire basket. That way it would not have to be locked in to prevent it from sliding forward so that the ice falls into the freezer instead of the ice tray. It would definitely benefit from having one of the glass shelves slide back as my GE Profile had so that you could put taller items in the fridge instead only on the door.

LOVE THIS REGRIGERATOR..We have a special opening & this one fit perfectly in the space! It makes ice continually and the temperature of both refrigerator & freezer remains constant.

This was one of only a few in this size. The 36" was too big for the existing space, but with a family of 5 we needed a fridge as large as possible. This is a good size for us. I wish that filtered water was available inside, as it is in the same fridge in the 36" size. I also wish that the divider for the freezer was adjustable as it is for other shelves and separators. We have only had it for short time, but are pleased with it.

This is a great unit. It puts the refrigerator at the top where you don't have to bend over to see things on the shelves. The freezer section is easy to use and it has an ice maker. I would recommend it for anyone with back problems.
