Whirlpool 30" - 5.0 Cu. Ft. Self-Clean Single Electric Wall Oven

Overall a good value for the price. Cooks very evenly.

This model came in my new Shea home 3 years ago. I noticed foods weren't being baked or roasted consistently. Once the oven is fully pre-heated to 350 degrees, I put in my cookies, but noticed they were taking much longer to bake than normal. I turned off the oven and then immediately turned it back on again and the temp reads 310 and goes back in to preheating mode, even though it had been baking 5 minutes after I closed the door at the full temp of 350. I then tested it by just raising the oven temp instead of turning it off and on. Same thing - it will read 310 to 330 degrees and it says it's preheating, even though it had already been baking for several minutes at full temp and I didn't re-open the door. I then used my digital instant read thermometer to measure its inside temperature to compare it to the oven's thermometer. When the oven says it's fully heated to 350 and to insert my food, the temp is actually 251. 9 mins later it overshoots to 364 and then an additional minute later it's at 378. Then the temp starts dropping and 9 mins later it's down to 324, before it begins rising again. Door was never opened the entire time, and controls were not adjusted. Baking and roasting require precision. This oven can't do the job.

Thought there would be issues fitting into existing wall opening. Added a little molding to the sides of the cabinets and all else fit well. Very quiet. Nice control features.

2nd Day I made: Brownies, Pecan Pie, and Banana Nut Bread. It Worked Great......

Purchased this about a month ago and have given it a good work out. I do love not having the exposed bottom element...makes cleaning the floor of the oven so much easier! And the large window is great. Temp seems to be pretty accurate, too. I chose this one because of it's price and the size. Did not need to have the convection feature.
