Additional parts must be ordered

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The ice maker was delivered two weeks ago 3 days after ordered and in good shape. No damage. plumber arrived to install and informed us that a drain pump would be required. I pulled the instructions that came WITH the ice maker and it says drain pump required if you can’t use gravity drain. All our drains go into the wall, too high for gravity drain. I read further and found that the ice maker requires a water filter installed BEFORE it will run. Filter does NOT come with the ice maker. I called the parts number in the instructions and ordered the filter but was told the pump must be ordered from another department. My call was transferred to parts department where I ordered the pump (an extra $500 more) but was told it had to be on a separate order. The pump arrived 10 days after the ice maker arrived. Two weeks and I’m still waiting for the filter. The drain pump being an additional purchase I understand since if gravity drain will work for you then you can save $500. But no filter? If it will not run without the filter then why not include one? If the ice maker can come in 3 days why does it take over two weeks to get the parts needed? Also, the instructions suggest Water tube insulation to prevent condensation and a water cut off valve and included part numbers. The company parts guy couldn’t even find the parts listed in their inventory. A note on-line listing additional items REQUIRED when I ordered the ice maker would have been very helpful. When we eventually get the ice maker installed & working I hope I can give a great review.
