Even though it is “made in Ohio,” it didn’t last.

I purchased this model 6 years ago. There are only 3 members of my family who have their items dried in this unit (myself, my husband and my Sheltie). This dryer was under utilized and it well cared for. It no longer gets warm / dries our items. My grandma had her Maytag for years, now you are lucky if you get 5 good years out of a Maytag. What happened to your quality and longevity Maytag?!

Beware of Blower Wheel Clogs

We are a 2 person household and do laundry several times a week. We purchased this Maytag dryer in November 2018 as part of an appliance package for our new retirement home. We were happy with the dryer for 10 months - then it started making a loud noise and vibrating. We call Maytag warranty service and the repairman suspected lint in the blower wheel. It exhausts the dryer air and was totally clogged with lint. Evidently, the lint gets through the filter screen and clogs the blower wheel. He needed to take the dryer apart to get to the blower - since this happened after only 10 months - I suspect we will need to call for service again next year! We are fastidious in cleaning the filter after every load and the exhaust line was clear of lint. We have not had this issue with any other dryer - and we've owned 6 of them. Maytag needs to come up with a fix for the filter system or agree to pay for blower wheel clogs for the life of the dryer.

I don't like to dry on high heat, and this machine did wonders with just air only drying. I am thrilled with my new dryer!

Our old dryer died, so I just went to replace it. I did not think much about features - a dryer is a dryer. However, we bought one with the steam feature. We love it! It works great .
