Read and follow the instructions, buy premium diswasher detergent and rinse aid. Give the machine what it needs to do the work. I bake pies. I put my used pans in the washer after baking over a dozen pies. With left over sugar and crust this machine performed better than expected on the heavy and normal modes. I live in a typical NYC apartment, although I do not have a standard washer I'm fortunate to have enough room to store the unit in my living room until needed. My guest can't tell it's even there. I use cascade Platium detergent packs and rinse aid.

I just saw the reviews for this dishwasher which I’ve owned for a few years and thought I would add my opinion. I love this dishwasher! It does exactly what it’s supposed to do which is get my dishes totally clean. I use the one hour cycle and heated dry. Because it’s not built in it’s a little noisier but not bad. I run the hot water to get it hot before starting then hook it up and walk away. Because I’m having my kitchen redone, I’ve bought a built in but got another Whirlpool! Good solid product.

This is a great, solid appliance. It came in very handy in my small kitchen because I could store it in the side diningroom when not using. If using the cleaning agents properly, it cleans immaculately. I hold up my glasses to the light when done using & they are pristine. Those who left negative comments may not have purchased the proper cleaners or their water wasn't clean?

This dishwasher is garbage. We call it the "all day rinser". The wash cycle goes on and on. Dishes are NEVER clean. Nor are they ever dry. The energy saving bologna just means this useless machine goes on all day and never does the job. I scrape off and still not clean. Not a useful machine. Isn't that what machines are for? to be useful?

It's been about 2 years I have this product and it never washed well even when we rinse our stuff before putting it inside. The dishes plates are always wet also, this does not dry well at all. I don't like the spacing in they trays and the ustensils container is too close from the door wall, they can block the door easily when you close the door. Our product has been making weird noise a few months ago but now it is gone. It never worked well, I do not recommend this product. I bought it for my wife and she hate it. I would not buy this ever again. It is easy to start the cleaning and that is the only good point.
