We bought a house with th Whirlpool Gold double wall oven. The oven did not operate at inspection. Cost homeowner$800 to repair. Had to replace the "brains." I had the oven less than a year. Ran the self cleaner. After that the oven would not shut off unless we shut off the breaker or set the timer. Got so bad where it went completely out. Again $800 if you can get the parts. Just a flawed appliance. Shame on Whirlpool putting out a flawed product. I used to be a loyal Whirlpool consumer, not any more.

My 14 year-old Whirlpool double oven was replaced (due to an electrical malfunction) by model WOD51ECOASO5 Whirlpool double oven. I am most unhappy - the temperature is all over the place. I have had 3 service company technicians, each telling me something different. They concur that the temperature is okay, but that I need to preheat for at least half an hour. I was also told that I should only self-clean the ovens once a year, at the most twice - the rest of the time hand clean. Why would I buy a self-clean oven, only to not be able to use that feature. I loved the first oven, but am extremely disappointed in this double oven. The company refuses to replace it.

After about two years of use, the top thermometer went out. Replacement is about $50. One should expect better from a $3000 appliance.

Not Worth the Price

This oven has been nothing but a piece of tash from day one. I've had to have it serviced at least once every year for the past 7 years It is noisy as all get out And the cool down fan takes forever!!! And don't every use the self cleaning option!!!!! This has burned out the oven electronics both times we tried it!!!! And to top it all off, it blows hot air into the room, with no option to redirect to vent.

Nice but slow to heat up

Overall is pretty good. Only thing is the preheat takes a longer than expected time to achieve correct temperature. You have to plan ahead for cooking quick things like pizza.
